Falling For YA

Hello! I'm Emily. I am a YA Book Blogger at Falling For YA, Third Year Law Student at the University of South Dakota, and lover of all things bookish.

Mockingjay - Collins Suzanne Every once in a while you read a book that leaves you feeling like a better person for having read the book. I feel that way about Mockingjay.

In the third and final book of The Hunger Games Trilogy the story centers around what happens after the Collapse of District 12 and the war that has begun in the Districts of Panem. Katniss has been rescued from the Second Hunger Games arena but Peeta was not as lucky and instead was captured by the capitol.

Mockingjay follows the story of Katniss coming to terms with the new role of Mockinjay that has been thrust upon her, the challenges of living in a war torn world, and trying to understand her conflicting feelings for both Peeta and Gale.

If you loved the first two Hunger Games books this is the grand Finale you've been waiting for. While I will say that I loved the story I must admit the ending was very dark and that bothered me. In Katniss's world that has been full of so much sorrow and loss I really wanted an ending I could walk away from feeling all warm and fuzzy. This ending did not offer that and even if it had it would not have been The Hunger Games series I have come to love.
